News from Angola – Guinea-Bissau became, on Monday, the first team, among the four Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP) in the African Championship of Nations (CAN 2023), to be eliminated from the competition and without add any point.

In the last game, played at the Félix Houphouêt-Boigny Stadium, in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), the Guineans lost 0-1 against Nigeria and registered their third defeat in as many games.
Portuguese speakers finished last in Group A, in which Equatorial Guinea was ranked first with seven points, as was Nigeria, which came second and Côte d’Ivoire, with three points, ended up third.
It should be remembered that Guinea-Bissau was defeated (2-0) in the opening round by the hosts and in round two by Equatorial Guinea (4-2).
In total, the PALOP representatives scored two goals and conceded seven.
