The case of this driver who fatally hit a pedestrian in Malaza Ampitatafika yesterday once again demonstrates the incivism currently undermining Malagasy society. Among this scourge is the refusal to take responsibility for one’s actions. Yesterday, around 5 a.m., an unfortunate event shook the residents of the aforementioned fokontany, in the commune of Ampitatafika, district of Antananarivo Atsimondrano. A man in his fifties was found dead on the edge of the RN4 (PK11). Informed of these facts, the police, accompanied by a forensic doctor, went to the site. According to the doctor’s findings, this seriously injured man was hit by a car. However, the driver of this car fled without leaving any clue to identify him. The worst part is hearing that no identification was found on the victim who was carrying a bag containing some clothes. According to the preliminary police investigation, this individual did not reside in the neighborhood. This is why his remains were placed in the morgue of the Joseph Andrianavalona hospital while waiting for his loved ones. The investigation is open to search for the car and the fugitive driver.
