The government’s online-only policy excludes people without internet and without smartphones
Vienna (OTS) – After the tradesmen’s bonus, the repair bonus and the subsidies for heating replacement, the federal government is continuing its discriminatory policy towards people without internet access or without a smartphone: The newly launched Federal Treasury, the Republic of Austria’s savings and investment option, is also only possible online. For the President of the independent Austrian Pensioners Association, Dr. Peter Kostelka, further discrimination against people who do not have a smartphone on which the ‘Digital Office’ app can be installed.
Kostelka makes it clear: “We have nothing against digitalization. But it cannot exclude people. There must always be an alternative solution. Either you can make an application or drawing in person, or in writing/post. The state and politics in particular must set an example here and ensure everyone has access to services and funding!”
