Biathlon boss Hamza on the change of coach: Does Davidová not understand? I don’t have to confess

They wanted to refresh the biathlon national team with fresh wind, but a few minutes after the announcement of the new coaching staffs, a slight smell wafted into the offices of the association’s leadership. The biggest star Markéta Davidová (27) spoke up!

Matt Emmons (43) quit the women’s national team at his own request in March, now the legend Jiří Holubec (58) is saying goodbye. But the princess of Czech biathlon was most surprised by the departure of her kindred spirit, head coach Egil Gjelland (50).

She developed a strong bond with Nor. Despite the criticism at the end of the season, she did not imagine such maneuvers. “If it wasn’t for Egil and Matt, I wouldn’t even have finished the season. I still don’t understand how it turned out like this.” she lamented on Instagram.

Her colleague Jessica Jislová (29) also joined. “This is a challenging biathlon change for me that I am still trying to understand. Egil has a lot to do with not only the kind of biathlete I am, but also the kind of person I am,” she thanked him.

Role for Moravians

However, the performances of the Czechs did not flourish under Severan. Rather the opposite. It was Davidová who was eighth best in the sveták last season. She didn’t feel well at the races. The team was not a team. The brother of ex-biathlete Eva Puskarčíková’s partner Luca Bormolini (37) and Lukáš Dostál (31) are now set to change that.

“We are making conceptual changes. We look to the future and give opportunities to young coaches,” assured the association’s sports director Ondřej Rybář (45), who appointed three-time Olympic medalist and world champion Ondřej Moravec (39) to the men. He will second Michael Málek

Boss Hamza on the changes: What to say…

After a botched season, the head of Czech biathlon Jiří Hamza (53) felt that it was necessary to make a cut among the coaches. And so he did.

Markéta Davidová and Jessika Jislova are not very excited about the changes, are they?

“I’m sorry, but I’m on vacation so it’s hard for me to comment.”

But do you know that some doubts have been expressed on Instagram?

“I have nothing to say about it. Everything is written in the press release.”

Usually such changes bring new impetus to the team, but now it doesn’t look like it…

“I’m sorry, but I don’t have to confess to anyone and publicize something.”

What influence do competitors have in selecting coaches?

“Do you think the football chairman is asking Patrik Schick what kind of coach he should choose?”

I would also be interested in that…

“The representatives have been informed about the changes.”

Aren’t you afraid that the contestants might want to quit?

“Don’t be angry, but I don’t want to say anything about it. Let each man make his own picture.’

Charvátová on the change: It's good. An ideal time for a different training system
