Within the framework of the activities of the third edition of the Itran National Festival for Theater and Street Arts, hosted by the town of Ait Atab in the Azilal province, the candles of art and culture were lit in the Azilal Cultural Center through a distinctive theatrical performance titled “Al-Fayshata.”

The theatrical work, directed by Amin Nasour, and whose scenography was creatively designed by artist Tariq Al-Rabh, witnessed exceptional brilliance from the talented cast, led by star Maryam Al-Zaimi, Saadia Ladeeb, Kamal Kazmi, and Farid Al-Karaki. The Mohammed V Theater in Rabat handled the production brilliantly.

The theatrical work deals with a mysterious story that takes place in an unspecified time and place, where the tyrannical pasha controls the arena, drawn to the art of “sheikhs” and oblivious to other aspects of life. The story’s events develop to reveal the Pasha’s struggle with a brave tribe that challenges his authority, and ultimately leads to organizing resistance against him, led by two strong-willed women, with the aim of exposing his power and liberating the population from his grip.

The “Al-Fayshata” show was characterized by an important turnout, as a large number of prominent figures in the Azilal province attended, including Mohamed Atfawi, the governor of the province, along with a group of local and elected officials, and a number of artists, media figures, and citizens interested in issues of art and theatre.
