Bahraini omnivore Ahmed Mishal Al-Borshid won first place in the fourth edition of the Katara Award for the Art of Omnivore, winning the title of “Gulf Omnivore 2024”.

The competition, organized by the General Foundation for the Cultural Village (Katara), concluded its activity on Tuesday, April 30, in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Bahraini maestro Waheed Al-Khan participated in a symposium on marine singing arts, and the Qalali Folklore Band also presented a special evening as part of the side events.

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities confirmed that this new cultural achievement is a reflection of the rich history and heritage of the Kingdom and the efforts that have been made for years to preserve folk arts, which are one of the most important elements of Bahrain’s intangible cultural heritage. The Authority explained that, as part of its keenness to represent Bahrain in the best way, it worked to provide all possible facilities for the success of the Kingdom’s participation in the competition, congratulating Al-Naham Al-Borshid on his victory and achieving this distinguished title.
