Security forces killed on Friday/Saturday night in Paris a man who was threatening two policemen with a “butcher knife,” according to what the Public Prosecution said.
The source explained that the man was born in January 1984 in Sudan and there is no judicial record for him.
The Public Prosecution stated that the two police officers opened fire after using a stun gun without results, noting that an investigation had been opened, explaining that shortly before three o’clock in the morning, “the police received a report about the presence of a dangerous person wearing a robe and carrying a butcher’s knife at the Butte du Chapeau Rouge tram station in 18 Avenue Indochine in the 19th arrondissement of Paris.
They shocked him 20 times and he was not deterred
The statement continued, “When they arrived, the man was carrying a butcher’s knife in one hand and a notebook with Arabic writings on it in the other.”
The statement said that the man “did not comply with their orders to drop his weapon, and despite the police repeatedly using their stun gun, he attacked them while still carrying the butcher’s knife,” according to the Arab World News Agency.
He continued, “According to preliminary information, four policemen used their Taser twenty times.”
The Public Prosecution said that the two policemen who opened fire were taken to the hospital in a state of “shock,” without mentioning that any policemen were injured.
