The Tenders and Auctions Board, which is responsible for monitoring public procurement in the Kingdom of Bahrain, opened bids for 10 government tenders in various sectors in its weekly session yesterday (Thursday).
The total number of competing bids in yesterday’s session was 49 bids submitted by various local and foreign companies, while the total of the lowest bids amounted to about 2.4 million dinars. The fields range from electricity, water, taxes, engineering services, and sanitation. These tenders witnessed strong competition, as several companies submitted their offers to win these projects.
The Ministry of Public Works won the tender to connect the sewage network in the Al-Maqsha area – Block 450 and part of Block 458, to which it submitted the lowest bid of 712,837 dinars.

In the tender to provide the necessary maintenance for the Electricity and Water Authority’s smart meter inspection and testing device, 3 companies submitted their offers, and the value of the lowest bid submitted in this tender amounted to 68,165 dinars, which was submitted by Al Bakali General Trading BSC.
Regarding the tender for the supply, installation, testing and inauguration of electrical switches for the Electricity and Water Authority, 5 companies submitted their offers, and the value of the lowest bid submitted in this tender amounted to 441,874 dinars, and it was the share of Al Bakali general trading BSC.
As for the tender for appointing goods and services tax consulting and goods tax audit services for Gulf Air, 3 companies submitted their offers, and the value of the lowest bid submitted in this tender was 303,647 dinars, by CNK AND ASSOCIATES LLP.
In the tender to replace the 48-volt charging systems of the Electricity and Water Authority, 8 companies submitted their offers, and the value of the lowest bid submitted was 126,747 dinars, by Omni Trading and Services Company LLC.
As for the tender to provide the University of Bahrain’s graduate platform, 6 companies applied for it, and the value of the lowest bid submitted in this tender was 96,250 dinars, and it was submitted by Synergy International.
As for the tender to provide sewage service tanks to the Capital Municipality, 11 companies submitted their offers, and the value of the lowest bid submitted in this tender was 296,505 dinars, and it was submitted by Orange Contracting.
Sustainability, quality and cost are among the main criteria on which bids are evaluated and winning companies are selected.
