The police say that a case has been registered in the incident of the body of a 55-year-old woman being found in a tree in a cotton field in village Chakhotiana near Bahawalnagar district of Punjab province.
According to the police, the reason for this murder and hanging the woman from the tree is not clear yet.
An FIR of the incident, which took place on September 30, was registered at City B Division police station against the woman’s son, under sections 302, 496A and section 34.
The woman’s son told Independent Urdu that he is a resident of Farooqabad and does hard labour.
He said that on September 29, around 7:30 in the evening, my aunt and uncle had come to our house. My mother had gone to buy milk from a nearby shop when suddenly we heard shouting from the street.
“I ran outside with my uncle and aunt and saw a Suzuki Mehran parked, in which a man named Muhammad Ikram, accompanied by three unknown persons, was forcing my mother into the car and by the time we got there, the car They drove away.’
He said that Muhammad Ikram lived in our street and we knew him well. Some time ago he had moved to Lahore by renting out his house while some of his relatives live in the same area.
He further stated that when they took his mother away in the car, he contacted Ikram on phone and demanded to send her back, on which Ikram told him that he was going to Lahore, to come back. Will leave the mother at home.

According to the woman’s son: ‘On September 30, around 2.30 pm, my father received a call that his mother’s body was hanging from a tree in a cotton field in Chakhotiana.’
After which they contacted the police and the body was sent for post-mortem.
SHO Meher Abdul Jabbar of Police Station City B Division told Independent Urdu regarding this case that the investigation is still going on. “We have geo-fenced and retrieved the footage from the CCTV cameras that were available while phone data is also being retrieved.”
The SHO said that raids are being conducted to arrest the person accused by the heirs in the FIR.
He further said that the preliminary investigation revealed that the 55-year-old woman who was allegedly killed already knew the man, who has been named as an accused in the FIR.
The SHO said that the woman’s husband is a retired bank employee and he has also been investigated, but currently nothing has come out against him during the investigation to keep him under observation.
He also said that apparently no signs of violence were found on the body found in the tree, but more details will be known after the post-mortem report.
