A total of eight people, including six members of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), were arrested in a separate joint operation in Bandarban. Meanwhile, weapons and ammunition were recovered along with the jeep used during the Krishi Bank robbery in Thanchi.
They were arrested from Sunday (April 7) night to Monday afternoon.
Lieutenant Colonel KM Arafat Amin, Commander of Ruma Army Zone, said that seven country guns, 20 rounds of bullets, KNF uniform, laptop, a pair of boots, a knife and various other equipment were recovered from Bathel Para in the Ruma army operation. At the same time, assistant cashier of Ruma Sonali Bank has been detained as a suspect along with two other members of KNF.

According to law enforcement sources, eight cases have been registered in Ruma and Thanchi in connection with the rampage of hill armed organization KNF in Ruma-Thanchi. Army-RAB-Police operations are underway in Ruma, Thanchi, Rowangchari and Alikadam upazilas to catch those involved in the incident.
Confirming the incident, Superintendent of Police Saikat Shaheen of Bandarban said that the joint forces arrested one person from Thanchi and six from Ruma.
Earlier, Chief Coordinator of KNF Cheosim Bom (55) was arrested from Sharan Para in Sadar. Eight people have been arrested so far in a separate operation by Army-RAB-Police.
Meanwhile, security measures have been strengthened across Bandarban district in the wake of the KNF rampage. Various capabilities of the law and order forces have been increased, including police armored vehicles.
On the other hand, due to the closure of banks in Ruma, Thanchi and Rowanchhari upazilas, the number of customers has increased at the main branch of Sonani Bank in Bandarban district headquarters. It also increased the suffering.
Last April 2 and 3 in Ruma and Thanchi, KNF robbed banks and looted 14 weapons of law and order forces. Eight cases have been filed so far in this incident. Among them four in Ruma and four in Thanchi.
