MEXICO CITY (apro).- The opposition presidential candidate, Xóchitl Gálvez, expressed her solidarity with María Amparo Casar, and considered that she is “a victim of the most miserable harassment and persecution of an authoritarian government that seeks to silence its critics.”

In the morning, Octavio Romero Oropeza, director of Pemex, pointed out that Carlos Fernando Márquez Padilla, husband of María Amparo Casar, committed suicide in 2004 as a Pemex official and the president of Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity (MCCI) manipulated the case of death to pass it off as a work accident and thus collect insurance and pension.

In this way, with various legal resources, the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador wants to recover 31 million pesos of the payment that was given to Casar and will seek to punish the officials who participated in the alleged illegal act. The name of Héctor Aguilar Camín also stands out.

The writer precisely described the accusation leveled against Casar and him as “a miserable attack coming from the Palace.”

The director of Pemex reported that on October 7, 2004, Márquez Padilla García, coordinator of advisors of the Corporate Administration Department, died at Pemex after falling from a window on the 12th floor of building A.

After the death, María Amparo Casar requested payment of life insurance, help with funeral expenses and post-mortem pension equivalent to 124,948 pesos for her two children, which was covered until they turned 25 years old.

The official accused that Aguilar Camín and María Amparo Casar visited the then attorney general of the Federal District to ask him to modify the ruling, “so that it did not look like suicide, but rather like an accident so that the payment of both insurance and retirement could proceed. “It was finally resolved that it was suicide.”

He accused that at that time Pemex officials omitted the ruling, considered it an accident and proceeded to pay the insurance and pensions, so they will seek to recover the money that was given to them.

The opposition bloc candidate joined the issue and, through networks, pointed out that Casar is “a brave and critical Mexican who has denounced the corruption of governments of all political parties.”
