Work is underway to close the journalism business. Due to various problems and crises, the identification of mainstream journalists is delayed. However, it can be done soon, said Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice Md. Nizamul Haque Nasim.

He said this at a seminar and exchange of views on prevention of yellow journalism and objective journalists in the media organized by the Press Council at Kalapara, Patuakhali on Thursday (March 07).

At 11 o’clock Kalapara Press Club engineer. 60 journalists from different print and electronic media of Kalapara upazila participated in the seminar and exchange meeting at Tauhidur Rahman (CIP) auditorium.

Bangladesh Press Council Secretary (Additional Secretary) Shyamal Chandra Karmakar was present as a special guest in the meeting.

Kalapara Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Various problems and possibilities of journalists were discussed at marginal level in the program presided over by Jahangir.

Chairman of the Press Council Justice Md. Nizamul Haque Nasim said, if journalists work properly, people will benefit. There are some mischievous people in the journalistic community, due to which everyone is getting a bad name. Journalism should be improved not as a business, then reputation will increase. Database of journalists is being created. Although the information of several districts has been obtained, the information of the journalists of all the districts is not yet available.
