2023 was a memorable year for the mobility of the Capital of Cesar. In the midst of ups and downs, challenges, tests, successes and hard work, SIVA, the Strategic Public Transportation System of Valledupar and the first to be implemented in Colombia, managed to improve the quality of life of the community by using quality, efficient and accessible to all; which provides a service with air conditioning and a platform for people with reduced mobility, which allows a comfortable and safe experience.

This System, with great potential and positive impact on the environment and which has generated progress in the city after completing its first year of operation, is moving, on average, 18 thousand passengers per day and operating with 9 routes: 100, 101, 214, 313, 316, 412, 515, 561 and 562; with 130 buses operated by 265 drivers, from Sunday to Sunday. It has also contributed to this capital by reducing pollution, improving road safety and promoting the use of alternative means.

The manager of SIVA, Katrizza Morellí Aroca, assured: “We have reached the end of a wonderful 2023, loaded with many blessings for Valledupar. We feel very grateful to God, who has allowed all this to come true and also to Valledupar for all the support and love he has given to this system. I invite you to continue taking care of him and supporting him, because it is for the benefit of everyone. In 2024 we will continue working with a lot of effort to reciprocate the support of our users.”

The Manager assured that the new year will come loaded with more city projects to continue contributing to the development of Valledupar. He referred to the construction of the North Terminal, the Route Terminals and stops with public space (PEPs), the continuation of Avenida 38 by SIVA, among others. He also indicated that SIVA, as the country’s first implemented SETP, recognized for its advances and technological innovation that is promoting social development with the generation of more than 300 jobs, will fulfill another city dream: the installation of 466 bus stops, signage and complementary works. throughout the city. At the end of November, the foundations began throughout the capital and it is expected that in the first quarter of 2024 they will already be at the service of the vallenatos.

He stated that SIVA has 75% physical progress in the execution of the South Terminal, a work that will consolidate the operation of the SETP. It will house about 140 buses. It is built between the El Porvenir urbanization and the Villa Jaidith neighborhood in Comuna Tres. It will have wellness areas for drivers, maintenance, washing, EDS, warehouse, offices, among others. At the moment it has made great progress in its administrative area, paving, construction of box culvert and environmental compensation. Its delivery is projected for the first quarter of next year.

It is worth remembering that SIVA has promoted the development of the capital of Cesar with the construction of quality infrastructure, such as: Historic Center, Glorieta La Ceiba, Avenida Simón Bolívar, Avenida Fundación, Panama Canal, Avenida Emiliano Zuleta Baquero, Avenida La Popa , Avenida 450 Años and Diagonal 10, thereby achieving the construction of more than 30 kilometers of roads, more than 13 kilometers of cycle routes, nearly 250 thousand square meters of public space, benefiting more than 300 thousand people who also benefit with the planting of more than a thousand trees.
