Former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor’s manager, Audie Attar, has shared his thoughts on when his client will return to the octagon.
Publika.az reports that he expects the legendary fighter to return to action next year:
“If it was up to McGregor, he would fight next Saturday. We are now following all the rules and procedures to get Conor back in the octagon as soon as possible. When will this happen? The ideal choice is UFC 300 (ed – the tournament will take place on April 13, 2024). The most likely opponent is Michael Chandler.
As you know, they competed together on “The Ultimate Fighter”. That’s why UFC management and fans are waiting for this special fight. Yes, there are other names. But as of today, the UFC is interested in Chandler. I have no other information for you.”
Note that McGregor fought his last fight in July 2021 and lost to Dustin Poirier. Already in the first round, the Irishman unfortunately stumbled and broke his leg, after which he could not continue the fight.
