“Hraparak” newspaper writes: “Back on March 26, the Ministry of Economy and the Lydian Armenia company had to sign an agreement according to which 12.5 percent of the company’s shares should be given to the government. In other words, the process of getting a share from “Lydian” was solemnized, as if it was not about getting a share from a private mining company, but, let’s say, about signing a strategic alliance agreement between Armenia and the USA.

Mass media were invited to the event, which was solemnly announced in advance, but on the day of the event itself, they informed the media that the event was canceled due to technical reasons. We sent a written request to the Ministry of Economy, asking what are the technical problems that have not been resolved for about a month.

When will the company transfer the share to the government? The ministry replied to us.

“The technical issues of signing the contract between the RA Ministry of Economy and “Lidian Armenia” CJSC have been resolved. The contract will be signed in the near future, about which additional information will be provided.”

It remains to find out what kind of technical problem it was, due to which the announced event was canceled and how it was resolved.”
