Shane Watson has been blowing in Pakistan cricket for several days now. Sudden change in weather. Instead, the Watson-stream has stopped. Shane Watson has removed himself from the race to become the head coach of the Pakistan national team.
Watson was offered to become the head coach of Pakistan by the country’s cricket board-PCB with an annual salary of 22 crore rupees. Looking at the atmosphere so far, it seems that the former Australian all-rounder has considered the offer of the highest salary in the history of PCB very well.
But Watson suddenly changed his mind. He made it clear that he will return to his old job, the coach of the franchise tournament Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Quetta Gladiators.
According to cricket website Cricinfo, Watson has decided to continue his current coaching career and work as a commentator. Currently, in addition to working as a commentator in the IPL, the former Aussie cricketer is also serving as the coach of the US Major League Soccer team San Francisco Unicorn.
It is reported that apart from offering the highest salary in history, PCB has also given a condition to Watson. Watson may not have liked the condition. This former Aussie cricketer has been told – if he agrees to take the responsibility of the coach, then Watson will have to give up his other work very soon.
Watson could not accept this condition given by PCB. He decided to go back to his previous job. For that reason, Pakistan will have to play the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand without a coach.
