We immediately published a public statement from the Temucuicui Autonomous Community
Given false information and false confrontation with Carabineros:
The Autonomous community of the territory of Temucuicui, hereby point out the following:
1.- This Thursday, February 22. 24, at approximately 12 noon, a violent incident occurred, caused by Carabineros personnel, where Javier Llanca Tori, a member of the Temucuicui territory, and another person, Carlos Barrientos Barrientos, from the Collico sector, were detained.
2.- While they were traveling along the route towards the community specifically at the exit of the city of Ercilla, they noticed that the police brutally beat a person at a vehicle checkpoint, at this moment they got off the cell phone and began to record the brutal procedure, the police, upon realizing that they were being recorded, ran and tried to confiscate the mobile phones, causing strong blows by the police against the two people, one of them a member of our community, thus ending with their arrests.
3.- The media outlet Malleco 7 maintains information indicating a gunfight and two wounded police officers, a situation that is absolutely false.
4.- The official press never tires of insulting the autonomous community of Temucuicui and discriminating against the Mapuche people in general. This is a situation where the police act arbitrarily and with great violence. It should be added that Javier Llanca Tori is the same brother who had been injured by a settler who shot him at point-blank range a week ago.
5.- So far we do not know the charges that have been brought, but we are attentive to this new racist and cowardly aggression, there are several other audio-visual records of people who observed the brutal procedure of the police that refute the statements of the police.
