The VSV continues to collect Austrian victims of the VW diesel scandal and offers risk-free claims for damages against VW.
Vienna (OTS) – In Italy, the antitrust authorities took action against the VW Group for unfair business practices and imposed a fine of 5 million euros.
The background is the marketing of VW vehicles with an illegal shutdown device for exhaust gas purification. The result: Nitrogen oxides far above the limit values are blown into the air and affect people and the environment.
The sixth chamber of the Consiglio di Stato (Council of State) has now legally rejected VW’s appeal against this penalty.
„We hope that this decision will now also accelerate the damages proceedings of South Tyrolean VW customers against VW, supported by the Consumer Protection Association (VSV) and pending at the Braunschweig Regional Court, since it has now been made clear under Italian law that VW is responsible for cleaning exhaust gases from diesel vehicles with the EA engine defrauded 189 authorities and customers,
says Daniela Holzinger, chairwoman of the VSV.

„Either an existing legal protection insurance covers the cost risk or our litigation financier, who receives a success commission of 35%,
“explains Daniela Holzinger. “Since VW defrauded the authorities and customers with the EA 189 engine, under Austrian law claims for damages only expire 30 years after knowledge of the fraud.
“
The VSV also calls on those VW customers to join in who, at the time, only joined the criminal investigation by the Economic and Corruption Public Prosecutor’s Office (WKStA) as private parties, but have not yet filed a civil lawsuit.
„Since it is expected that the WKStA will stop the investigation shortly, now is the time to file a lawsuit yourself in court.
