Vizcarra He is disqualified from exercising public office for ten years as a result of his irregular vaccination during his term and for five years due to alleged conflicts of interest during his management as head of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC). However, he has already decided to be a presidential candidate in 2026.

It is known that a few months ago Vizcarra submitted a document to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, in order to resolve his legal situation, since he is seeking to reverse the ruling that prevents him from holding public office.

On Friday, the Fifth National Preparatory Investigation Court issued an indictment against former President Martín Vizcarra for the crime of passive bribery, for the ‘Lomas de Ilo’ and ‘Hospital de Moquegua’ cases.

According to the Judiciary, the aforementioned cases occurred when Vizcarra served as regional president of Moquegua.

Likewise, Incot Contrastistas Generales, Astaldi Peru branch, Obrainsa and ICCGSA are incorporated as civilly responsible third parties in this criminal process.

“It was decided to refer the case to the Collegiate Criminal Court on duty with the accusation and annexes within the legal period,” indicated the National Superior Court through its X account.

The Attorney General’s Office argues that Vizcarra benefited from the alleged payment of one million soles by representatives of the Obrainsa-Astaldi consortium at the end of 2013 in exchange for being favored with the good pro for the ‘Border Expansion’ work. agricultural Lomas de Ilo – Moquegua’.
