Ukraine has not asked partner countries to deploy foreign troops on its territory, but believes that “no scenario can be excluded” in the future. As TASS agency learns, the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security under the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine announced this on Facebook.
“French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that in the future sending Western military personnel to Ukraine cannot be ruled out. Although, he noted the lack of consensus on this issue as of today. “Ukraine has not officially applied to partner countries with a request to include personnel in their armed forces,” the message said.
According to the above report, the involvement of NATO troops for the defense of Ukraine will be possible after Ukraine joins the alliance.
After the meeting held on February 26 at the Elysée Palace on the issue of support for Ukraine, Macron announced that the possibility of sending ground forces of Western countries to Ukraine was discussed there. According to him, the parties did not reach an agreement on that topic, but such a scenario cannot be ruled out in the future.
