UFC Ultimate Fighting Championship debutant Mauricio Ruffi addressed Russian Islam Makhachov on social media after defeating Jamie Mullarkey.

“I have a message for Islam Mahachev. Enjoy being on top while you can. I know you’re upset because I beat up your friend. A new king is coming,” Ruffi wrote.
Ruffi defeated Mullarkey by TKO in the first round. Ruffin has ten wins and one loss in mixed martial arts.
In October 2022, Mahachev defeated the Brazilian Charles Oliveira and won the lightweight title.
On February 12, 2023, Makhachov defeated Alex Volkanovsky via unanimous decision after five rounds at UFC-284. It was the first title defense for the Russians.
On October 21, 2023, Makhachov scored an early victory over Australian Alex Volkanovsky in the main event of the evening at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi. The Russian defeated his opponent by knockout in the first round and defended his title for the second time. For the fight, Makhachov received the “best performance of the evening” award.
