Rawalpindi-based Zubash Tahir and Nazeeha Jawad run a business of renovation products made of metal, metal art, which they have named ‘Ahang’.
The two became friends in 2001 when she was pursuing her Masters in Computer Arts.
Zubash told Independent Urdu that this friendship has completed 22 years and since two years she has been doing online decor work under the name ‘Ahang’.
She said that she started her business two years ago with wall hangings and now she does everything related to the renovation of houses herself.
According to Zubash, he got recognition when he started renovation work with metal.
They cut pieces of metal into a specific shape and emboss it with various tools and work to create designs.
What is metal art?
In this regard, Zubash said: ‘Metal art is rarely seen in Pakistan and people in Pakistan like it a lot.

‘It is a metal roll made of copper, which we import from abroad. This metal roll is first cut into different pieces and a special tool is used to create different impressions on it, which creates patterns on the metal pieces.
‘The piece of metal is then inked and sprayed to allow the ink to dry to further enhance the beauty.’
He said that ‘after this metal pieces are attached to the wooden base to make various things.’
Zobash’s friend Naziha Jawad designs the metal and adds pearls and stones of different colors.
It takes three to four days to make a metal artwork product.

Nazeeha said that Ahang is a brand created by two friends, which they started after attending a workshop.

According to Nazeeha: ‘We are friends who walk together, so we named our brand Ahang.’
She said that she works to promote her brand on all social media platforms.
After making her product, she makes various videos of it which she later posts on Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok, through which people can access her and buy her creations.
According to Naziha: ‘About 90 percent of people’ buy their products by contacting them through social media.
According to Nazeeha, among the social media platforms she prefers Instagram the most, from which she gets a lot of customers.
She has only been doing this job for two years now, but according to Nazeeha, she earns quite well from this business.
