He gave this information at a press conference on ‘Proper Traffic Management on the Occasion of SSC Examination-2024’ organized by the Traffic Department at the DMP Media Center in the capital on Tuesday (February 13).

Munibur Rahman said, ‘For any urgent need, you can call 999 and call for help. In this case, the traffic department will try to provide all kinds of cooperation.

Stating that several plans have been taken by Dhaka city traffic on the occasion of SSC and equivalent exams, he said, ‘SSC exams are held at the end of the year. Notable students participated there. SSC exam is a significant event. We try to cooperate with those who are involved with this test.’

Addressing the students, he said, ‘Before leaving for the examination hall, you must take the necessary papers and pens along with the admit card. Know the location of the center well before the start of the exam. Have a clear idea of which route to go from home.’

He also requested the examinees and parents to leave their homes with enough time keeping in mind the traffic congestion on the roads and highways in order to reach the center before the commencement of the examination.

The Additional Commissioner of Police said, ‘Before the commencement of the examination, one should leave in such a way as to reach the examination center at least 30 minutes before. It is important to leave home considering the roads where there are railway crossings. If there is any digging, repair work on the road around the house or the center of the candidate, he should take it into account and leave on time. He also requested the examinees and parents to be careful when traveling in vehicles.

He said, ‘Don’t come and go to the examination center hanging on public transport. Candidates who will go to the center on motorcycle, must wear helmet for safety reasons. Candidates arriving at the examination center are requested to take the assistance of the traffic police on duty if they face traffic jam or any untoward problem. Avoid crossing the road at risk. Use footover bridges if necessary and seek police assistance. Use if there is a zebra crossing across the road.’

At this time, he requested the parents and examinees to park the vehicles used by the examinees in a safe place away from the examination center without parking in the vicinity of the center.

Munibur Rahman said, ‘If the examinees and guardians stand on the road in front of the center, the movement of vehicles is obstructed. This may cause delay in other candidates reaching the center. For this, candidates and parents should refrain from hanging out in front of the examination center, including standing on the sidewalk instead of standing in front of the main gate and road.’
