JAKARTA – The dividend cum date or the last day investors buy PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk shares to get the right to distribute dividends falls today, Wednesday (13/3/2024). As is known, the company distributed cash dividends to shareholders amounting to IDR 48.10 trillion or dividends per share of IDR 319, equivalent to a dividend payout ratio of approximately 80.04 percent of attributable profit. The dividends distributed by BRI have increased by 10.59 percent compared to the nominal amount paid in 2023 of IDR 43.49 trillion. This decision was agreed upon at the 2024 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) in Jakarta (1/3/2024).
Dividends worth IDR 48.10 trillion or IDR 319 per share include the amount of Interim Dividends that were distributed to Shareholders on January 18 2024, amounting to IDR 12.67 trillion or IDR 84 per share. Thus, the remaining amount of cash dividends that will be paid to shareholders is at least IDR 35.43 trillion or IDR 235 per share.
As for the Republic of Indonesia’s share of dividends for ownership of 53.19 percent of the shares, BRI will deposit approximately IDR 25.71 trillion into the State General Treasury Account.
BRI President Director Sunarso said that this dividend distribution is a form of BRI’s commitment to providing economic value primarily to shareholders. Through strategies and initiatives supported by good capital management, the company is optimistic that it will be able to continue to create value and provide optimal returns to shareholders.
“This is clear evidence that state-owned enterprises (BUMN) which have the functions of agent of development and value creator can carry out economic and social value roles simultaneously. Through tax payments and dividends, these profits will return to the state as the majority shareholder. “Furthermore, these profits are used for the benefit of the Indonesian people through various government programs,” said Sunarso.
