Paying THR and Salaries to 13 Civil Servants This Year, Minister of Finance Disburses IDR 99.5 Trillion

JAKARTA – Minister of Finance or Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani conveyed, the total budget disbursed by the government to pay Holiday Allowances (THR) and 13th salary Civil servants in 2024 will reach IDR 99.5 trillion. Sri Mulyani explained the details, IDR 48.7 trillion for payment THR PNS and another IDR 50.8 trillion for the payment of salaries for the 13 civil servants.

“For 2024, the ASN (budget) will increase from IDR 11.7 trillion to IDR 18 trillion because there is an increase in basic salary. “Then the performance allowance component (tukin) is 100%, whereas last year it was only 50%, so the total for central ASN tukin is IDR 6.82 trillion and pensioners increase from IDR 9.8 trillion to IDR 11.65 trillion because there is a 12% increase in pensions,” explained the Minister of Finance. Sri Mulyani at the Press Conference Providing Holiday Allowances and Salaries for the 13th Fiscal Year 2024, Friday (15/3/2024).

The Minister of Finance also emphasized that the THR for civil servants will start to be paid in the next 2 weeks or at the earliest D-10 of Eid. Payment of salaries to the 13 civil servants is also to increase purchasing power.

“We hope that this will increase the purchasing power of ASN, and can be used to purchase domestic products to help MSMEs so that it is truly beneficial,” said Sri Mulyani.

Meanwhile, Minister for Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas explained that regional ASN can be given additional income up to a maximum of the amount received in 1 month, taking into account the regional fiscal capacity.

Especially for teachers and lecturers whose basic salaries come from the APBN and do not receive performance allowances, THR can be given a teacher professional allowance or lecturer professional allowance received within 1 month. For retirees, the THR component paid consists of basic pension, family allowance, food allowance and additional income.

Minister of Home Affairs or Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian added that THR is part of the government’s efforts to stimulate the community’s economy. For this reason, the government will work together with all regional governments so that THR can be paid on time.

“I instructed my fellow regional heads to immediately prepare and speed up regional head regulations that regulate the technicalities of giving THR and 13th salaries,” he said.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially issued regulations for the disbursement of THR and salaries for 13 civil servants this year. The regulation is in the form of Government Regulation Number 14 of 2024 concerning Providing Holiday Allowances and thirteenth salaries to State Apparatus, Pensioners, Pension Recipients and Benefit Recipients in 2024.
