On the afternoon of May 1, talking to reporters Dan Tri, Mr. Dinh Xuan Thong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Trung Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh province, said that in the area, there had just been a drowning incident that left 3 students dead.
The victims include: Cao HT (born 2012), Cao TMQ (born 2008) and Cao TT (born 2010), residing in Tien Phong village, Trung Hoa commune, students of Trung Hoa Secondary and High School.

At around 12:30 on the same day, the 3 students mentioned above and a group of friends invited each other to the creek in Trung Hoa commune to bathe, unfortunately they drowned.
Discovering the incident, two students in the group ran to call for help. However, when people arrived at the scene, the three students mentioned above had died.
The bodies of the three unfortunate victims were brought by their families for burial. Local authorities visited and encouraged the families of the victims, and at the same time informed parents to monitor and remind their children to take safety measures when bathing in rivers and streams, especially swimming. during the hot season.
