This is the weakness of the attack-based war implemented by Israel in Gaza

GAZA – Two armed groups Palestine fired rockets at Israel from the Gaza Strip on Sunday (2/6/2024). It was carried out by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine targeting Israeli troops stationed at the Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) intersection.

This shows that the Palestinian fighting group was able to rebuild its forces because Israel implemented an attack-based war strategy. This shows the weakness of Israel’s attack-based war model because it does not prioritize intensity, but only sporadic ones.

US defense research institutions, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) and the Critical Threats Project (CTP), also reported that Israel intended to deploy two divisions for a ground attack on the southern city of Rafah, but was blocked by the US. “Concerns over weapons sanctions and now Israel are moving more carefully in Rafah,” said ISW and CTP, reported by Al Jazeera.

However, ISW and CTP reiterated in their latest battlefield report that Hamas continues to regroup its forces in the Palestinian territories following the withdrawal of Israeli troops. “This is described as a crucial weakness of the attack-based war that Israel is developing in Gaza,” they said.

In this way, Israel said that they would not implement a permanent ceasefire until Hamas was completely eliminated.

Then, Al Jazeera reported from the Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant. He was part of the war cabinet and spoke of an alternative group to rule in Gaza – although it is unclear who exactly that group would be.

He has pushed for a post-war plan for Gaza as has Benny Gantz, one of the members of the war cabinet, who has actually given Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu an ultimatum. On June 8, Gantz said, he wanted to hear what the postwar plans were.

But Netanyahu was also told by ultranationalists and right-wing ministers that they would step down from the government if there was a ceasefire, and that this would result in the dissolution of the coalition government Netanyahu needed to stay in power.

Then there was Yair Lapid, the opposition leader, who said [untuk] accept the deal. The families of those taken hostage also said ‘take a deal’. Yair Lapid said, if you accept the deal, we will support you. And there are many other ministers who say the same thing.

So, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is caught between the two sides.
