Vladimir Putin’s unofficial residence caught fire in the Ongudaji district of the Altai Mountains, one of the buildings was completely burned, The Odessa Journal reports. The Russian Vazinnye Istorij – Important stories portal published the photos and recordings of the fire, the information was analyzed by the investigators of the publication Sirena.
According to analysts, the color of the facade, the layout of the buildings, the green area, the terrain and the roof in the photos of the activists coincide with the elements of the previous photos taken of the apartment building.
Journalists analyzed the images using special programs, but found no signs of manipulation. They claim the photos were taken on May 30. The duty unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia did not comment on the information about the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown.
As reported by Index, according to a report co-authored by former deputy prime minister and Putin critic Boris Nemtsov, the site is “guarded by the federal security service assigned to the Russian president and other high-ranking officials.”
It is registered as a sanatorium and is notorious for bloody baths
The group of buildings in Altai, considered the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, is registered as a Gazprom sanatorium. The construction of the facility, which cost about 3 billion rubles, became known in 2009-2010. In 2011, journalists tried to enter the sanatorium, but security refused entry, citing the special status of the site for the country’s top officials. The complex is located at the confluence of the Ursul and Katuny rivers. The Russian president has stayed in this “sanatorium” several times during his unofficial visits to the Altai Mountains.
Near the residence is an enclosed special farm where marals (large red deer) are bred to extract blood from their antlers. In 2016, before the State Council meeting in Altai, the media reported that 70 kilograms of antlers had been prepared for Putin.
Deer blood is rumored to be used in baths that are believed to have medicinal properties.
In 2022, the Russian publication Proekt, citing people close to Putin, claimed that the then Minister of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, introduced Putin to the love of Altai’s bloody baths. The head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, is also said to enjoy such procedures.
This is by no means the only refuge of the Russian president
Earlier, Gleb Karakulov – who served as a captain in Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSO) before his defection in 2022, mainly tasked with covering up the Russian president’s whereabouts – gave a rare insight into Vladimir Putin’s paranoid lifestyle, confirming the Russian president’s secret train network in various cities the existence of identical offices, strict personal quarantine and increasing security protocols.
According to a senior Russian security official, Russia’s president is “sickly afraid for his life.” According to information, he uses a specially built, armored train for his official trips, the secret railway network includes stations that connect Putin’s residences – for example, Novo-Ogaryovo in the Moscow region, and his Black Sea resort, the Bocharov Ruchei residence in Sochi. The Russian president reportedly had identical-looking offices set up in St. Petersburg, Sochi and Novo-Ogaryovo, where secret services use fake motorcades and planes to pretend the president is about to leave.
The Altai mountain resort may be one of 20 properties that Boris Nemtsov claimed were at Putin’s disposal back in 2012, along with dozens of luxury jets, four yachts and 11 watches worth a total of seven hundred thousand dollars, all allegedly bought with public money. Nemtsov was assassinated in 2015 while crossing a bridge near the Kremlin.
It is also assumed that one of Putin’s bunkers is also located in this facility in Altai.
Local residents also thought they saw Putin’s helicopter near the residence during the coronavirus epidemic.
