JAKARTA – This type of train transportation can be an option for traveling around the world because it passes through 13 countries. Even writer Paul Theroux chronicled his journey on this train in his work, The Great Railway Bazaar.

Launching Express.co.uk, Tuesday (12/3/2024), many travelers are curious and plan their entire journey based on the train route.

Of course, the longest route offers beautiful views thematically. Prospective passengers can choose themed routes such as the Reunification Express, the Lake Titicaca Train and the Trans-Siberian Express, each of which has its own mythology and story.

Fans of train travel are now also offered intercontinental travel, namely from Portugal to Singapore. The itinerary lasts approximately 21 days.

This itinerary is full of stops in towns and villages along the way. The actual journey will likely take months across 18,755 kilometers via Europe, Siberia and Asia.

However, war in Ukraine making this route temporarily stopped. This route was replaced by the Boten-Vientiane railway line worth £4.7 billion or around IDR 8 trillion built by China in Laos to connect China with Southeast Asia.

The journey begins at the southern tip of Portugal in the port city of Lagos and winds north through Spain and towards Paris. After Paris, connections take passengers west through Europe until they reach Moscow.

Also try the Trans-Train line Siberia into the journey, which took just six nights to reach Beijing.
