To date, according to a report from the Valledupar Volunteer Fire Department, 36 forest fires have been attended to, as well as some structural fires, in urban and rural areas. Currently there are three outbreaks, one in the La Guitarra village, the second in the El Silencio village, Aguas Blancas district; and the third in the area between Atánquez and Guatapurí.
For the moment, the Valledupar Volunteer Fire Department has carried out the control and liquidation work of the fire, with Departmental Risk Management, the Army and air support provided from the national crisis room.
“The active points in the Municipality of Valledupar are being attended to by the authorities, we are working, united and articulated with these operational institutions to counteract the registered emergencies and, obviously, regarding the El Niño phenomenon in the Municipality of Valledupar,” he said. the Secretary of Government, Jorge Pérez Peralta, who confirmed the Unified Command Post was established in the facilities where the Valledupar Volunteer Fire Department operates.
All operational entities of the CMGRD participated in the meeting (Civil Defense, Red Cross, Firefighters, CRUE, health, Police, Bimur and the Ponalsar support group.
In the session, responsibilities were established and the necessary logistics will be arranged to continue with the control and extinction of the fire, while the operation to supply drinking water to the towns affected at this time is coordinated with the Civil Defense.
