Months ago, during these holidays and the end of the year period, there was a notable increase in complaints about excessive charges to tourists, especially in popular destinations such as the beaches of Cartagena.

A recent case that has caught the attention of authorities, including the Ministry of the Interior and the police, involves tourists coming from Germany after their visit to Playa Blanca in Barú.

A fact that has prompted an investigation to address the alleged unjustified charging practices that affect the experience of foreign visitors in these tourist areas.

According to the German’s story, it all happened when an individual who identified himself as “President Pablo” offered them to come to his house-restaurant for a meal, where they ordered two juices and two plates of rice with vegetables. However, upon receiving the bill, they found a surprise, and that is that they were charged around two million Colombian pesos, that is, more than 800,000 pesos for each lunch.
