Black eye color is biologically impossible. There are about 16 different genes responsible for eye color. Two of these genes are key factors. Melanin cells can produce a variety of colors, such as blue and gray, but the darkest possible color is not black, but very dark brown.
Well, why not black eyes?
Black absorbs a lot of light. Excess light is converted into heat energy in the body. As the temperature rises, the eyes become dry, and the body must produce several times more tears to protect the eyes. This condition results in people crying all the time. However, excessive tears can also cause blurred vision.
The second reason is ultraviolet rays from sunlight. Because the black eyes absorbed so much of it, we would be exposed to dangerous rays. This condition can lead to serious risks such as cancer and serious deterioration of eye health. But fortunately, thanks to our genetic makeup, the melanin that gives color to the retina protects us from UV rays.
Research shows that melanin cells block 99.9 percent of harmful UV rays and protect the eyes from sun damage.
