Calendar announced to prevent marketing of unripe mangoes in Satkhira. According to the announcement, Mumbai and Golapkhas can be collected and marketed from May 9, Gobind Bhog from May 11, Himsagar from May 22, Nyangra from May 29 and Amrapali from June 10.

This calendar was announced in the discussion meeting on safe mango marketing in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner on Sunday (May 5) at noon.

Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Department Saiful Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sarwar Hossain, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Shoaib Ahmad, Satkhira Town Raw and Ripe Mango Traders Association General Secretary Rajab Ali and others.

In the meeting, mango farmers and traders were called upon to collect and market mangoes as per the announced schedule. At the same time buyers are advised to buy satkhira mangoes carefully following the mentioned schedule.

Every day, a large quantity of unripe mangoes are being seized and destroyed somewhere in Satkhira on the grounds that unripe mangoes are crushed and ripened with chemicals. In the past one week, 38 thousand kg of unripe mangoes have been destroyed in the operation of the mobile court in the district.
