One of the pending matters that was left to Congress before the legislative recess was the short health law, which seeks to comply with the ruling of the Supreme Court, which determined that the isapres had charged their users excessively.

Christian Democrat deputy Eric Aedo – member of the Chamber’s Health Commission –, in conversation with The counterrefers to the setting of the ICSA maximum at 7.4% by the Health Superintendency, to the Government’s “wrong” strategy to deal with the crisis and to the lack of will of the Isapres to solve the problem.

Regarding the Government, he maintained that they took the wrong path in not addressing the crisis in a broad way with deputies and senators. According to his point of view, the processing in the Senate resulted in a “real forgiveness” by including mutualization. In fact, he doubts that there are the votes in the House for this to be approved, which is why he already predicts a Joint Commission.

This discussion has to take place against the clock, given that in April a formula must be reached to comply with the ruling, according to the Supreme Court. Now, Aedo does not rule out asking for another extension, considering that the Senate took eight months to clear the process. The parliamentarian, regarding that, prefers to “turn red at once.”
