Special Recognition from SAYCO to Maestro Piano Virtuoso Rafael Fernández Padilla

The SAYCO Valledupar Regional was the scene of the majestic musical evening called “The Return of the Pianist”, Rafael Fernández Padilla last Thursday, September 29.

It was a Concert-conversation by the pianist and arranger Rafael Fernández who has dedicated a lifetime to the study of music and musical pedagogy. The maestro delighted the members of the Regional, special guests and the media with his masterful interpretation on the piano of beautiful universal melodies, including ‘Minue in G’ by the famous Ludwig Van Beethoven, ‘Yesterday’ by the renowned John Lennon and Paul McCartney, ‘Spanish Serenade’ by Joaqui Malats, and could not miss ‘Sombra Pérdida’ by Maestro Rita Fernández Padilla, among other famous musical works.

During the evening, The Society of Authors and Composers of Colombia, SAYCO, gave well-deserved recognition to Maestro Rafael Fernández Padilla, for his invaluable contribution to music and teaching, leaving an important mark on Colombian classical music and folklore.

The president of SAYCO, Rita Fernández, the Manager of SAYCO, César Ahumada and the Corporate Director, Armando Romero, were in charge of presenting a special plaque to the pianist, as a symbol of exaltation of his musical career.

Maestro Rafael Fernández Padilla, from an early age, formed an amazing relationship with the piano, captivating the hearts of classical music lovers. For this reason, his experience and knowledge have led him to champion the piano as one of the disciplines with the greatest future in the city of Valledupar and its surroundings.

The work of the renowned musician has stood out for giving multiple concerts throughout the country and sharing his knowledge to hundreds of students from his own musical school in the city of Valledupar. His important career has earned him recognition from entities such as: Artillery Battalion – La Popa, Social Security Institute, Colombian Red Cross and Government of La Guajira.
