The Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended the winning results of three candidates of Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N). On Monday (February 19), the court ordered the suspension of these results.

The court suspended the results of the three winners following the plea of Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). According to the Pakistani media Geo News, a two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court consisting of Judge Minagul Hasan Aurangzeb and Judge Arbab Muhammad Tahir gave this order on Monday.

After the election on February 8, the election commission declared PML-N’s Tariq Fazal Chowdhury, NA-46 Anjum Akil and NA-46 Raja Khurram Nawaz as the winners in National Assembly-47 seats. But PTI accused all of them of rigging. Later they approached the court against the victory of these three candidates.

On the other hand, Raja Khurram won Islamabad’s NA-48 seat but was challenged by PTI-backed candidate Ali Bukhari.

Since the end of the election, PTI and other political parties have been alleging widespread manipulation of the results. Meanwhile, Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta on Friday (February 16) admitted that the election had been rigged. He even said that he was involved in this rigging.
