The Spanish club and ULEB of the Euroleague “Valencia” signed a contract with defender Kevin Pangos, inform a group.
The 30-year-old Canadian has spent the last year and a half with Olimpia Milano, but Pangos’ move to Spain has been rumored for several weeks. Today Pangos officially ended his collaboration with Milan, immediately joining “Valencia”.
After dealing with several health problems last year, Pangos lost the trust of Milan coach Ettore Messina this season and dropped out of Olimpia’s rotation. Pangos played just five games in the Euroleague, averaging 7.2 points and three assists.
Previously there was also information that Pangos could join “Žalgiris” Kaunas, the team with which he made his Euroleague debut in 2016. Pangos then became one of the leaders of “Žalgiris”, helping the team enter the “Final 4” and to take third place in 2018. Pangos himself was included in the second symbolic selection of the Euroleague.
In the continuation of his career, Pangos represented “Barcelona”, where he already played together with Roland Schmidt, and “Zenit” St. Petersburg. In 2021, representing the Russian club, Pangos earned a place in the symbolic first team of the Euroleague. Then Pangos moved to the NBA, where he failed to establish himself in the Cleveland Cavaliers, returning to Europe again last year.
Valencia is currently in third place in the Spanish league with 10 wins in 15 games, but in the Euroleague they have a record of 9-8, which allows them to be in the play-in zone, i.e. in 10th place. position.
