AS Roma’s visit to Turin had an extra dimension. After all, Romelu Lukaku played against the club he briefly flirted with last summer. The Juventus fans then resolutely opposed his arrival.
It was the same fans who not too warmly welcomed the Red Devils to the Allianz Stadium in tonight’s opening phase. Far from the deafening whistles of Inter at the end of October, but there were whistles at Big Rom’s first touch, at his first duel, at his first rush towards the ball and at his first goal attempt. Not that the Juventus fans managed to make themselves heard much: Lukaku was difficult to reach and played in a rather anonymous way.
Juve won the balanced top match. Rabiot scored the only goal just after the break. Offside, but he counted rightly. Juventus is second, two points behind leaders Inter. Roma remains stuck in seventh place.
