Food delivery service Foodora has thoroughly analyzed the numbers and discovered the eating habits of Trondheim residents in 2023.
For the first time they also choose the busiest restaurants in the city.
Burger on top
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it is the burger that tops the list of most ordered dishes in Trondheim in 2023.
– Almost every other courier in Trondheim has a hamburger in their luggage. This is more than anywhere else in the country. There’s no doubt about it: the burger is the best thing Trønders know, writes communications manager Mads Dokka Blybakken on Foodora in an email to Trd.by.

Foodora also named the most popular restaurants, which they call “Food Stars 2023.”
According to Blybakken, the rating is based on which restaurants customers order the most, which are ranked highest and which offer the highest quality takeaway in their category.
– 2023 was a record year for takeaway and almost 50 restaurants in Trondheim started with takeaway. The battle to call herself a restaurant star and the most popular restaurant was fierce, she writes.

Do it your best
Burgersjappa Fresh Fastfood in Solsiden gets the highest rating among food stars in Trondheim.
Owner and general manager Ercan Argin says over the past year they’ve worked to become even better at takeout. Additionally, they have switched to more local meat to make the burgers even better.
– We bring the food ourselves and have set a limit of five kilometers for delivery. This means we get to customers quickly, so they are more satisfied, she tells Trd.by.

Argin is happy that his company is at the top of the list in Trondheim.
He has the impression that burgers are particularly popular with young people.
– Around 70% of our orders come from the Møllenberg area. We see that we are popular with students and do well in the evenings. We can often deliver the burger in less than ten minutes. I think this is part of the reason why many people are satisfied.

Sunday is the “biggest” day.
The food delivery app has been a positive for Fresh Fastfood.
– We have increased sales because people don’t have to come to us personally and we have become more visible outside Solsiden. Especially many people order on Sundays when they have a hangover, Argin says.
The Foodora leader says Sunday is easily the biggest day for takeout overall, based on their numbers.
