The luggage brand ‘Travelo’ of country’s leading industrial group RFL is working with the aim of reducing import dependency and meeting domestic demand through domestically produced luggage. For this purpose, the brand is bringing new products in the market keeping in mind the needs and preferences of the consumers. In continuation of this, ‘Travelo’ has brought eight new designs of luggage to the market in two categories, hard and soft, keeping Eid ahead.

RFL Group Managing Director RN Pal unveiled these eight designs in a ceremony at RFL’s head office in Badda on Sunday (March 31). Of the eight designs, five are hard luggage and three are soft luggage. Through this, ‘Travelo’ brought products in the soft luggage category to the Bangladesh market.

On the occasion, RN Pal said, ‘Luggage is one of the most important accessories in travel. About 60 percent of the luggage used in Bangladesh is imported, most of which comes from China. Moreover, almost all the luggage made in Bangladesh are copies of world famous brands. In this reality, RFL started manufacturing the first branded luggage in Bangladesh.

He also said, ‘There is a huge demand for luggage not only in the country but also in the global market. Our aim is to export luggage extensively to meet the needs of the country. We have already started exporting luggage. At present, RFL luggage is regularly exported to 16 countries of the world including India, Germany, America, Spain, Ghana and Canada.

Noor Alam, executive director of RFL Electronics said, ‘Generally, buyers consider three things while buying luggage. These are luggage design, ease of use and safety. We have kept this in mind while developing Travelo luggage. As a result, we have received a huge response in the country’s market in a short time.

‘Travelo’ luggage is being manufactured at RFL Electronics’ own factory in Danga Industrial Park, Narsingdi. There are currently around 70 designs of ‘Travelo’ luggage available in the market across two categories, priced between Tk 750 and Tk 5,800.

Senior officials of the company including Mohit Chakraborty, Head of Marketing of ‘Travelo’ Luggage, Shafiq Shaheen, Head of Marketing of RFL Retail Chain and Rifat Hasan, Assistant Brand Manager of ‘Travelo’ Luggage were present at the unveiling ceremony.
