The price of gold in the country’s market has been reduced again. The price of best quality or 22 carat gold (11.664 grams) has been reduced by Tk 1,878. In this, the price of one piece of good quality gold is 1 lakh 9 thousand 163 taka.
This price has been reduced in view of the reduction in the price of acid gold (seasoned gold) in the local market. Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) said that this price will be implemented from Friday (May 3).
Earlier on April 30 and earlier on April 29, April 28, April 27, April 25, April 24 and April 23, gold prices were reduced seven times. On April 30, the price of good quality gold was reduced by Tk 420.
Before that, on 29 April 1 thousand 115 taka, 28 April 315 taka, 27 April 630 taka, 25 April 630 taka, 24 April 2 thousand 99 taka and 23 April 3 thousand 138 taka were reduced. Now, by reducing the price again, the price of good quality gold has been reduced by 10 thousand 262 taka.
Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee meeting on Thursday (May 2) decided to reduce prices again. Later this information was informed in a circular signed by the chairman of the committee, Masudur Rahman.
According to the notification, the price of acidic gold has decreased in the local market. Therefore, considering the overall situation, Bangladesh Jewelers Association has fixed the new price of gold, which will be effective from Friday (May 3).
According to the new price, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold has been reduced by Tk 1,878 to Tk 1,9,163. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been reduced from Tk 1,807 to Tk 1,4,195.
Besides, the price of one 18-carat gold bar has been reduced from Tk 1,552 to Tk 89,311. And the traditional gold price has been reduced from 1 thousand 283 taka to 74 thousand 276 taka.
However, buyers have to pay more than this to buy gold jewellery. Because gold jewelery is sold by adding 5 percent VAT on the price set by Bajus. Also, the minimum wage is 3 thousand 499 taka per shift. As a result, buyers will have to pay 1 lakh 18 thousand 120 taka to buy a piece of gold jewelery of 22 carats from 4 pm today.
Earlier, on April 30, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold was reduced by 420 taka to 1 lakh 11 thousand 41 taka. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been reduced by Tk 397 to Tk 1 lakh 6 thousand 2.
Apart from this, the price of 18 carat gold has been reduced by 338 taka to 90 thousand 863 taka. And according to the traditional method, the price of one load of gold was reduced by 280 taka and fixed at 75 thousand 559 taka. Gold will be sold at this price till Thursday.
While the price of gold has been reduced, the price of silver has remained unchanged. The price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, 21 carat is 2 thousand 6 taka, 18 carat is 1 thousand 715 taka and traditional method is 1 thousand 283 taka.
