He believes that the reason for the price increase is mainly the restriction of the importation of passenger cars with a production year of more than 10 years to the territory of the country.
The price policy of major car manufacturers, spare parts and transportation have also had a serious impact on the increase in the price of cars.
The expert says that there is a greater need for Russian-made cars in the regions. The main reason for this is that there is little or no official service of cars made in foreign countries in the regions of the country. For this reason, there is an increase in the price of Russian-made cars that are easy to repair and cheap in the regions. Russian cars manufactured in 2004-2005 are currently offered on the market for 6 thousand manats. However, their price last year was around 4 thousand manats.
The value of cars brought to the country has also increased compared to last year. In the months of January-March 2023, 20 thousand 799 vehicles worth 314 million 994 thousand dollars were imported to Azerbaijan.
The State Customs Committee reported that the import of vehicles increased by 125 million 640 thousand dollars or approximately 1.7 times in terms of value compared to the first quarter of 2022.
