In a statement on Monday, Laporta said, ‘There were several controversial incidents in the match. But one of them was more important and could have changed the outcome of the game.
“I’m talking about Lamine Yamal’s ‘Phantom Goal’. As a club we want to be sure what happened there. That is why we will immediately request the collection of footage and audio of the incident,” added Laporta.
Laporta added, ‘Once this evidence is analysed, the club realizes that an error has been made in reviewing the incident. We will certainly take all necessary measures to change the situation without any necessary legal action.’
“If it is confirmed that it was indeed a goal then we will go ahead and ask for the match to be rescheduled,” he said. As happened in another game in Europe due to a VAR error.’
Xavi and Barca goalkeeper Marc Andre have described the lack of goal-line technology in La Liga as embarrassing. They have requested the La Liga authorities to install goal-line technology to manage the game accurately.
