“Hraparak” newspaper writes: “The Republic of Armenia is gradually turning into a police state, where the Minister of Internal Affairs gains more weight than the Ministers of Foreign Affairs or Defense. And huge funds are provided from the country’s budget to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and in particular to the police, where they receive the highest salaries, drive the best cars, and wear the most expensive outfits, because this structure has become almost the only support of the authorities that are losing their authority and almost the only supporter of its policies.
Now it turns out that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is buying new police uniforms. 43 million drams were allocated to buy new black uniforms for 1,500 policemen. Black uniforms are worn by masked police officers who carry out special operations. Along with the new uniform, they also bought new sneakers and shoes, one unit of the collection costs 29 thousand drams. The Ministry of Internal Affairs allocated another 30 million drams to buy 4,500 new black pants. These pants are probably for patrols too.”
