After much speculation, the much awaited Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) board meeting is finally taking place on Monday at 2 pm at Mirpur Sher Bangla Stadium. Several agendas will be at the center of discussion in this meeting to be held after a long period of 6 months.
BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon and directors are going to hold board meeting after a long break due to election engagement. It was supposed to take place immediately after the World Cup, but it was further delayed due to BCB president Papon’s busy schedule after taking charge of the youth and sports ministry. But all the wait is coming to an end.
Several big decisions are coming in Bangladesh cricket including the future of Shakib-Nannu. Apart from this, the appointment of coaches and fixing their titles, finalizing the list of central contract of cricketers, Sheikh Hasina International Cricket Stadium, Women’s World Cup will be decided in this meeting.
Apart from this, the report of the inquiry committee made by the BCB to find out the reasons for the failure of the World Cup has also been prepared. All in all, several big decisions can be made in this board meeting of BCB.
Regarding the meeting, BCB Chief Executive Officer Nizam Uddin Chowdhury Sujan said, ‘We expect the board meeting to start tomorrow at 4 o’clock (2 o’clock according to the BCB statement). Our meeting will discuss economic matters as well as selection panel. Also the board will be updated on the work of our stadium. Some matters related to the stadium will be presented to the board for approval.
