Food and feed products allowed to be imported into the customs territory of Azerbaijan have been determined.
Publika.az reports that the Cabinet of Ministers has made a decision in this regard.
According to the decision, when the equivalence of foreign technical normative legal acts to national technical normative legal acts is recognized by the Food Safety Agency, it is allowed to import relevant food and feed products into the customs territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, whose compliance with these technical normative legal acts has been confirmed.
On the basis of the provided information, the Agency conducts an investigation on whether the different requirements of the relevant foreign technical normative legal act and the national technical normative legal act provide the same or higher level of sanitary protection and prepares a report on the results. The investigation must be completed within 2 (two) months at the latest.
If, on the basis of the research results, it is determined whether the foreign technical normative legal act provides the same or higher level of sanitary protection compared to the national technical normative legal act, the Agency shall notify the Agency within 10 (ten) working days about the recognition of the equivalence of that technical normative legal act or the refusal to recognize the equivalence. makes a decision and gives official information about the adopted decision to the foreign authority through diplomatic channels within 7 (seven) working days.
The date of entry into force of the decision on the recognition of equivalence should be mentioned in the information, and the circumstances that were the reason for the refusal in case of refusal of recognition of equivalence.
