The Human Genome Project (PGM) was a monumental scientific achievement in the history of human biology. This is an international collaborative project aimed at mapping and understanding the complete genetic sequence of humans. Since 1990, PGMs have had a tremendous impact on our understanding of basic human structure, genetic diseases, and potential applications in fields such as medicine, research, and ethics.

History of the human genome project

In 1953, the discovery of the structure of DNA by James Watson and Francis Crick was a major milestone in our understanding of genetic material. However, only in 1990 did an ambitious project begin to determine the complete genetic sequence of man.
