The Christmas season is coming again, Ha Phat church (Tan Bien ward, Bien Hoa city) makes a pine tree with ‘super tall’ conical hats, attracting thousands of people to visit and take photos every night.
Every evening, in the cold weather at the end of December, Ha Phat church is bustling with Christmas atmosphere, attracting a large number of people to visit and take photos. One special thing that makes this church attract many tourists is that there is a “super tall” pine tree made of conical hats.
At 7:00 p.m. every day, the 47m tall pine tree made from 4,200 conical hats begins to light up. Inside each conical hat is a light bulb, with 5 layers forming a brilliant sparkling pine tree shape.
The widest layer of the conical pine tree is nearly 20m wide and gradually narrows to the top. Compared to every year, the amount of iron and steel needed is greater. To complete this pine tree frame, it must weigh more than 10 tons. Besides, the church also added around the cables to prevent the wind from knocking them down.
The conical hats are arranged evenly, interwoven with tinsel and baubles.
It is known that this is the 6th year that Ha Phat church has made this unique pine tree. In previous years, the number of pine tree floors would correspond to the number of years, but this year the 5 floors remained the same and were made 10 meters higher.
As a layman who followed the process of making pine trees, Mr. Vu said, from the beginning of the iron frame welding technique until completion, it took about 3 months. Each person has one hand, making sure it is steady and neat.
“This pine tree requires meticulousness, because once it is lifted high, it cannot be repaired. It is imperative that the work below must be done in perfect order before being hoisted up and arranged into shape,” Mr. Vu shared.
Many people come to visit and take photos with this unique conical pine tree.
This year’s Christmas tree is replaced with yellow light bulbs, unlike last year’s use of blue light bulbs. Each floor is wrapped with tinsel and baubles around it.
Mixed in with the crowd of people coming to admire the pine tree, Mr. Vu The Viet, a resident of Trang Bom district (Dong Nai), said in admiration that his house is about 15km from here. He heard people say the conical pine tree had lights up, so he brought his wife and children. came to see, when he came here he was very overwhelmed with this “huge” height.
This young man was very surprised, he did not think this place would attract thousands of tourists to visit and take photos like that. His daughter was so excited that she asked him to take a photo to show the whole view of this pine tree.
Nearby, Ms. Xuan, 30 years old, said her son was just over 2 years old, but when he came here, he couldn’t take his eyes off the beauty of this pine tree. For the boy, this was the first time he saw such a “giant” pine tree.
At Ha Phat church, in addition to the “super tall” conical pine tree, there are also many stone caves, lanterns shaped like multi-layered cakes,… also splendidly decorated with colorful flashing lights.

This conical pine tree will begin to light up for everyone to visit and take photos from the evening of December 17 to New Year 2024. To ensure the safety of electrical equipment, every evening the church will turn off the power for 15 minutes and spray mist. to avoid “overloading” electricity.
