The fine for formal technical inspection is planned to be increased in Kazakhstan, Liter.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As part of this bill, changes are provided to the Code of Administrative Offenses in terms of increasing fines for formal technical inspection from 30 to 100 MCI.
Thus, Kazakh citizens who have not passed the vehicle inspection may be fined 369,200 tenge.
It should be noted that the consequences of a formal technical inspection (failure to carry out) are expressed in the admission of vehicles with technical defects to road traffic, which entails an increase in the level of road accidents, including fatalities. In this regard, fines should be proportionate to such offenses and be able to prevent their further commission, experts say.
The department noted that for a repeated offense within a year after the imposition of a fine, the license to operate a technical inspection operator will be revoked for up to three years.
Also, within the framework of this bill, it is envisaged to strengthen the requirements for the activities of technical inspection operators in connection with its formal conduct, including due to the operators’ non-compliance with the basic conditions for high-quality technical inspection. In this case, the strengthening involves a transition from the notification procedure to the permitting system, the Ministry of Transport reported.
The department expects that the adoption of the amendments will improve the quality of mandatory technical inspection of vehicles and reduce the number of unscrupulous technical inspection operators by half.
By the way, today there are about 960 technical inspection operators providing this service on the market.
