The Krejčík couple drove rallies together for eleven years, but on Saturday navigator Alena (†41), mother of son Tomáš, paid the ultimate price for the accident.
“We only had two accidents during the race. Unfortunately, the second was fatal for her, she succumbed to a severe head injury. An angel who can only be found once in a lifetime has left us forever. The pain of her departure is unbearable,” said Jaroslav (45), who was driving the car. A tragic moment at the Šumava Rally made him a widower, who is burdened with many worries and suffers from a lack of finances.
That is why a collection was created on the website znesnaze21.cz, the patron of which is the competitor Vojtěch Štajf. “My husband lost everything – the closest person and his sports partner. In addition, they saved a lot for the last competition, so it’s not even good materially. By donating to the collection, you will also help with the final farewell to Alena Krejčíková, because the family now has no money for her funeral due to the difficult financial situation.” it is written in the justification of the action.
Fortunately, there were many good people, and almost three quarters of a million crowns were collected in two days. “The family is now thinking about how to deal with the money. Part of it will definitely go to say goodbye to Alenka, some money then for a new start for Jarda and son Tomáš. If Alenka were here, she would also divide the collection to help the Austrian team, who had an accident during the Historic Rallye Vltava last Friday and one of the competitors was airlifted to the hospital. We didn’t even expect such a wave of solidarity, we thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts!” explained the wishes of the bereaved Štajf.
